Patient Management Microservices
Patient management split into independent Spring Boot services for patients, authentication, appointments, billing, and analytics, communicating over Kafka events, REST, and gRPC where a synchronous call is the right shape. The whole environment is provisioned with AWS CDK against LocalStack to emulate ECS locally.
01Overview
A patient management system split into independent services for patients, authentication, appointments, billing and analytics.
Services communicate over Kafka events where the work is asynchronous, REST where a request needs a reply, and gRPC for the calls that need to be fast and typed.
02How it is built
- The environment is provisioned with AWS CDK against LocalStack, so the cloud topology can be brought up and torn down locally.
- Redis backs caching and rate limiting across services.
- Observability runs through Prometheus, Grafana and service health endpoints.
- Container images are built in multiple stages, so the runtime image carries only what it needs.
